Updated: Apr 6, 2019

Kartel in Rockwell

Love love love this place. My perfect definition of great vibes, great drinks and a great view of Manila. Kartel Rooftop has a 360 degree view of Makati neighbourhoods in a trendy and relaxed setting. The owner is a French sommelier who has also worked along big names in gastronomy to bring you an expert cocktail and food menu. Highly recommended for something lively or casual.

Mireio

The gorgeous Mireio bar, located on the 9th floor of the luxury Raffles Hotel. The bar has gorgeous views of the city where you can bid adieu to the sun and indulge in famous cocktail concoctions, wine and popular Mireio special creations like Aperol Spritz and Froze.

Enjoy happy hour, or 'Golden Hour' with their free-flowing drinks package for 1,010 Pesos, or 50% off per drink from 5pm to 8pm daily, while listening to the unique and upbeat tunes of guest DJs nightly, from 6 p.m onwards.

Skydeck view bar

Most famously known for its outstanding 360-degree view of Manila. One of the best places to appreciate the beauty of this historic city is from the romantic al fresco lounge and restaurant located on top of The Bayleaf Hotel, within the historic walled city of Intramuros. Here you can enjoy classic cocktails, local and imported beer along with an extensive wine list with choices from all over the world. Sky Deck also serves a buffet-style dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, to go with the live entertainment. Happy hour on drinks runs daily from 5.30-9pm.

Buddha bar

Found over three floors, Buddha Bar offer a luxury restaurant, lounge and rooftop bar. Despite its relatively low position the terrace offers great views of Manila's downtown sky scrappers. Located at Picar Place in Makati City, Buddha Bar is good for food, drinks and music. Try their great selection of Asian-inspired food and well crafted cocktails by the skilled mixologists, and then stay to enjoy the live DJs. Just remember to dress neatly to avoid being turned away.

Firefly roofdeck bar

Located on the 32nd floor of City Garden Hotel, Firefly Roofdeck Bar is a cozy respite in the middle of busy Manila. They have a full menu and bar with a wide selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.

Straight up

Found on the 15th floor of Seda Hotel in Bonifacio Global City there is a luxurious, modern rooftop with one of the best panoramic views from East to West. Enjoy is loungey atmosphere and great drinks menu pre-dinner. The intimate terrace has a daily happy hour between 6-8pm or join in with their “apericena” promo that follows the Italian tradition of complimentary tapas with cocktails, or mocktails from 5pm to 7pm daily. Stop by for live music on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8pm to 11pm. Or if you you're around on the weekend, they have a DJ spinning '70s to '90s music on Fridays and House beats on Saturdays from 8pm. to 2am.

The Penthouse 8747 is a classic and chic lounge that has obviously been inspired by the art deco period, you'll get those Great Gatsby feels for sure. The lounge is over looking the Ayala Triangle Gardens with an amazing view of the Makati Skyline.

The Nest

Perched on top of the Vivere Hotel located in the southern parts of Metro Manila. There is stylish indoor dining offering great food a la carte, which then leads out onto an extra lush terrace decorated with dining tables and lounge sofas. Enjoy the fantastic views and great ambiance with a hand-crafted cocktail. Reservations are not required, but highly recommended to be guaranteed a good table.

Z hostel

Looking for something less 5 star? Z Hostel hosts a younger and more lively crowd of backpackers, this chilled out roofdeck has (almost) no rules and promotes a 'come as you are' dress code. Hit this bar up if you love to mingle with other world travellers, live up affordable drinks and have a good time. Food wise there isn't anything fancy but I have heard that the Adobo Flakes are worth trying.

Where? Z Hostel, 5660 Don Pedro, Makati City
